As Executive Director of HIV Edmonton,
Sherry McKibben managed a change process that was incredibly difficult and never
really came to a conclusion. She learned that highly skilled staff and
organizations can become bogged down in the politics of prioritizing demands
with diminishing resources.
This book provides discussions regarding
change, primarily in AIDS service organizations. It presents material and ideas
that will help increase our understanding of the dynamics of change and the
management of change in HIV/AIDS work and in the third sector in general.
McKibben held open-ended interviews with
colleagues in human service organizations in Canada and the United States. The
material in this book reflects these individuals’ experiences with change within
their organization.
