The Canada Survey of Giving, Volunteering and Participating provides the most comprehensive overview of the contributions of time and money Canadians make to nonprofit and charitable organizations and to each other. Conducted in 1997, 2000, 2004, and 2007, the CSGVP surveyed a random sample of Canadians on how they: gave money and other resources to charitable and nonprofit organizations; volunteered time for charitable and voluntary organizations and for individuals directly; and participated in organizations by becoming members.

This site boasts information on 40,000 nonprofit and community organizations in 165 countries. A search engine on the home page allows you to search and browse through these organizations. The site also provides information on thousands of volunteer opportunities throughout the world. Much like any online labour exchange, individuals can create and post a profile of themselves, and receive information about volunteer opportunities that might be of interest to them. Conversely, non-profit organizations can use the site to post volunteer job opportunities and information about their organization. Organizations can also browse for potential volunteers.

At this stage, all job postings, including bilingual postings, are completely free of charge and there is never a charge for job seekers.
