Alberta:

Information and Volunteer Centre for Strathcona County

Located in Sherwood Park, the Information and Volunteer Centre for Strathcona County has three primary programs: Community Information Service, Volunteer Centre Service, and the Capture Our Spirit Youth Volunteer Program. The Centre's website contains their library catalogue, and also lists education opportunities and local media contacts. They have online forms for requesting a volunteer, subscribing to their electronic newsletter and registering an agency. They network through blogs, Facebook and Twitter.

The website also has an on-line form for organizations needing volunteers.

Volunteer Alberta has been around for more than 13 years, and exists to help network Volunteer Centres, not-for-profit organizations and the people who participate in the voluntary sector. The site contains a directory of Volunteer Centres in Alberta and information about the Volunteer Week Initiative. Resources that can be accessed from the Volunteer Alberta website include: Volunteer Week resource kit, insurance toolkit, risk management strategies and tactics, information about directors and officers’ liability, information about volunteers and the law in Alberta, and a guide for screening volunteers.

Moncton Volunteer Centre

The Volunteer Centre's Resource Centre provides information to both the public and non-profit community on such topics as volunteer management, fundraising, board governance, marketing, screening and other non-profit issues.
